Private Client and Family Solicitor

We are looking to appoint a part-time and full-time Private Client and Family Solicitor (3 days a week 9am - 5:30pm/5 days a week 9am - 5:30pm) who is ready to come and hit the ground running.

• You will be based in either Croydon or Harrow for this particular role. Please cite your preference in your application.

• As a qualified Private Client Lawyer/Legal Executive you will also have experience in dealing with Family and Probate matters. You will have strong academics and have up to 3 years post qualification experience from a reputable law firm. Newly qualified solicitors are welcome to apply where they have completed relevant seats in family, probate and or litigation.

• You will specialise in Wills and Probate matters and also be adept at handling your own caseload of privately funded family work.

• You will be working on all aspects of Family Law including divorce, financial settlements covering property, income, trusts, pensions and offshore assets and Children Act matters and also be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge and technical expertise in dealing with contentious Wills and Probate matters.

Civil Litigation Solicitor

We have established offices based in Harrow, Croydon, Lewisham and Bournemouth are looking to appoint a Civil Litigation Solicitor up to 3 years PQE or more, who can hit the ground running.

This particular role has been created to deal with an influx of nuisance (Japanese Knotweed) and Undisclosed Commission claims in our specialist claims department and will be office based. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Litigator who is looking to progress further in their career.

Candidate requirements:

•           3 years PQE

•           Must hold experience within a variety of litigation areas in particular – financial mis-selling, undisclosed commissions

•           Technical expertise in dealing with a variety of civil litigation matters in particular – nuisance and Japanese knotweed

•           Strong academics and experience from a reputable law firm

•           Be able to demonstrate detailed knowledge

•           Compliance with the civil procedure rules

•           You must be a qualified Solicitor and hold a practicing certificate

You will have the opportunity to work in a number of different areas of litigation and candidates with experience in the following is desired:

Dispute Resolution, Debt Recovery, Enforcement, Breach of Contract, Building and Property disputes, Neighbour disputes, Construction disputes, Professional Negligence, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, Family and Probate

Key Responsibilities:

•           You will be managing an allocated workload and be required to progress these matters through to settlement or trial

•           You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the law relating to nuisance and undisclosed commission claims

•           You must have the ability to conduct a large caseload of claims litigation with minimum supervision and be accustomed to working in a busy team

•           There will be an opportunity to work within other areas of claim’s work and you may be called upon to deal with other litigation matters as detailed above.

Duty Solicitor

Brooklyn Law is a highly reputable, Lexcel accredited practice with offices in Lewisham, Harrow and Croydon. Our firm is now recruiting for a Criminal Duty Solicitor in each of our offices.

This is a great opportunity for a Crime Duty Solicitor to join a specialist established firm in London. The successful candidate will handle a wide range of criminal matters and provide high-quality representation at police stations and Magistrates’ Courts.
 
Responsibilities
• Carrying out police and magistrates court duties in accordance with the LAA rota 

 • Undertaking criminal supervisory duties
• Attending police stations both in and outside of office hours
• Running cases from the police station or Magistrates’ Court
• Covering phones out of hours
 
The Candidate
• Duty accreditation is essential with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
• LAA criminal supervisory accreditation will be highly advantageous
• Good academic record and IT proficiency
